RocketDNA scores another mining deal

Aerial data solutions provider RocketDNA (WA) Pty Ltd continues to make inroads on the mining landscape in both Africa and Australia, evidenced by the latest deal to operate its xBot survey system on the premises of a mining complex in Australia.

The company announced that it had secured a three-year purchase order to supply its autonomous xBot surveying system to Cosmo Newberry-based Gruyere Gold Mine, a joint venture between Gold Road Resources Ltd and Gold Fields Ltd which is set to become 100 percent owned by Gold Fields upon completion of a recently announced acquisition.

The contract includes the supply and maintenance of a SurveyBot drone-in-a-box system, remote piloting services, and access to RocketDNA’s SiteTube visualisation platform.

The integrated solution enables daily autonomous drone flights, with data securely delivered to site managers and engineers via cloud-based systems.

“We are excited to partner with Gold Fields in helping them deliver on their productivity and safety goals at Gruyere, through the on-site deployment of our SurveyBot and our SiteTube tools, which will deliver a complete operational intelligence solution, providing autonomous aerial coverage and support for their survey and open-pit teams,” said Christopher Clark, Managing Director & CEO of RocketDNA.

“This long-term agreement reflects the growing demand for remote autonomous data services and underscores the strategic value of our xBot platform within the day-to-day operations of Tier 1 mining customers.”

Through fully-outsourced, AI-driven solutions, RocketDNA remotely operates drone systems, enabling customers to focus on ground operations while ensuring fast data turnaround.

The company generates revenue through multi-year contracts and short-term projects with major clients, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 miners such as Rio Tinto, BHP, South32, Newmont, Vault Minerals, and Seriti Coal.

RocketDNA operates primarily in Australia and Africa, with regional offices in Perth, Johannesburg, and Accra.
