Rocketmine drones to provide aerial surveillance at African mine

A few days after announcing their arrival on the Zambian precision agriculture landscape, drone solutions provider, Delta Drone International has revealed that its drones will be providing air surveillance services at and African location for one mining conglomerate.

The mining company – whose identity will remain a secret for security reasons, according to Delta Drone International CEO, Christopher Clark – is said to have entered an initial six-month renewable contract for providing unmanned aerial surveillance services.

“This contract shows the value and flexibility of our fully integrated drone-as-a-service capability,” Clark said. “Drones and UAVs are increasingly becoming an integral part of many work practices – from traditional sectors such as industrial, civil engineering and infrastructure, mining and agriculture through to entertainment, public safety, and retail deliveries.”

The company’s subsidiary, Rocketmine, will execute the contract, which is said to be worth $264,000.

Clark explained Rocketmine’s responsibilities at the mine further; “What they all have in common is that drones and the data they create can very efficiently manage or keep an asset safe. In this instance, it will be the real-time monitoring of the physical assets of the mining company.

“By offering both drones and software, and the ability to harness the data created in real-time, Delta Drone International is in a unique position to tailor solutions for our customers across a range of sectors, based on their specific needs. We believe managing the security of assets will be a logical step for many customers who are already using us to optimize their operations in other areas.”
